Claude watermarks your text. Here is what actually removes it.

Anthropic began watermarking Claude's text output on 2 August 2026. Its own documentation states that nothing is added to the text and there are no hidden characters: the mark lives in which words Claude chose, applied with a private key using the SynthID-Text technique Google DeepMind published.

That single fact invalidates most tools currently marketed as Claude watermark removers. They strip zero-width Unicode characters, which Claude does not insert.
